I have significant experience of the developing world context, having lived and worked in Thailand in 2009-2010. During this time, I was Communications and Development Officer for a Thai foundation working with disabled children. My remit included media relations, fundraising, launching a new supporter magazine and special projects.
To this end, I worked on the BBC SuperPower project – a major initiative to train disadvantaged young people how to use the internet. As well as delivering the training (in Thai) I helped the group to film their own video.
Throughout the 12 weeks of the project, I provided updates for the BBC World Service website and Health Check programme. I was also interviewed for local stations such as BBC Surrey and BBC Sussex, and for regional television programme BBC South Today.

Prior to my time in Thailand, I worked for the UK headquarters of The Salvation Army and for Scripture Union – in both cases managing their websites and social media presence.
